Status and outlook for paper industry

The paper industry is one of the world's largest industrial sectors, mainly located in North America, Northern Europe and East Asia dominated by a number of countries, while Latin America and Australia also play a more important role in this industrial sector. But in the foreseeable future, due to the European region and North America's market has tended to be saturated state, its future development potential will be limited, located in the Asia-Pacific region of India and China, the two major country markets will become the global paper industry in the coming years the most powerful engine of growth. Globally, ranked by production, the top ten producers of paper and paper products include China, the United States, Japan, Germany, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil, Russia and Italy.

There are three main problems and challenges
1. The paper industry is the world's fifth largest energy consumer and the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases, with the paper industry accounting for about 5 per cent of global carbon emissions, and environmental impacts are one of the most critical issues and challenges facing the paper industry.

2. Cost is another key issue and challenge for the paper industry, which is highly capital-intensive and requires large investments in equipment, infrastructure and raw materials.

4.Supply chain management is another key issue and challenge for the paper industry, which relies on a complex supply chain that includes raw material suppliers, pulp and paper mills, processors, distributors and retailers.
