In the process of industrial production, many harmful foams will be produced, and defoamer needs to be added. It is widely used to remove harmful foam produced in the production process of latex, textile sizing, food fermentation, biomedicine, coating, petrochemical, paper making, industrial cleaning and other industries. Silicone emulsion defoamer use note: before use or sampling need to fully stir the emulsion. Oil-in-water emulsion can be diluted arbitrarily, but at the same time, the stability of the emulsion will also decline sharply, such as stratification. When diluting, please add water to the defoamer and stir slowly. Since the emulsion is best stable at its original concentration, the diluted emulsion must be used up within a short period of time. Emulsions are sensitive and vulnerable to frost and temperatures above 40°C. Protect against frost! Lotions that have frozen can be carefully removed from frost, but must be tested before further use. Strong oscillations or strong shearing (such as using a mechanical pump, homogenizer, etc.) or stirring for a long time will destroy the stability of the emulsion. Increasing the viscosity of the emulsion or adding a thickener can improve the stability of the emulsion.

In the pulp mill, the defoamer is generally added in the bleaching and washing section, and is generally added in the pulp washing machine, thickener and pulp tank. The defoamer in the paper making section is generally added to the paper machine flow box, pulp pool, coating and sizing press.

It is generally more cost effective to use two defoamants than to use a higher amount of one defoamant, added separately at far apart locations. For example, one defoamer is added in front of the beater and the other is added in the flow box.
